Overton's game  on Monday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by  a  14-5 margin over the KIPP Collegiate phoenix. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won ten matchups by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Jeremiah Haynes and  Sammy Kehrli made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing,  Haynes   struck out nine batters over  four innings while giving up  three earned runs off   three  hits. Meanwhile,  Kehrli   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Those  nine  strikeouts gave  Haynes a new career-high. At the plate,  Haynes  went a perfect 2-for-2 with six  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI, while  Kehrli  got on base  in two of his four plate appearances with five  stolen bases and one  run. Haynes is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last four games he's  played.
 In other batting news,  Tamarge Carey was a standout: he got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with seven  stolen bases and three  runs. Those  seven  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.  Nehemiah Diggs also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.
 Overton  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .676. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an  OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive  contests.
Overton's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 15-7-1. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for KIPP Collegiate,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-4.
 Looking ahead, Overton will square off against Kingsbury at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9  runs per game this season. As for KIPP Collegiate, they will take on Douglass at 4:30  a.m.  on Wednesday.
