Baseball Game Preview: Reese Rockets vs. Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots

The Reese Rockets will face off against the Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Reese's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Unionville-Sebewaing's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Cass City hit Reese with a four-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rockets lost 9-1 to the Red Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rockets have suffered since April 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Unionville-Sebewaing). They never let Bad Axe get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Unionville-Sebewaing and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Reese, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Everything went Reese's way against Unionville-Sebewaing in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Reese made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
