Softball Game Preview: Tremont Eagles vs. West Union Eagles

Tremont is 0-8 against West Union since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. Tremont will challenge West Union at 6:00 p.m. Tremont has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tremont managed to slip by Shannon the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 15-7 to the Red Raiders on Monday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Union never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Houston last Tuesday. They blew past the Hilltoppers 11-5. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

West Union has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Tremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Tremont suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to West Union in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Tremont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
