Soccer Recap: Cerritos Comes Up Short

Cerritos and Montebello squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cerritos had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Montebello Oilers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Oilers are ranked 518th).

Cerritos' defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Montebello, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Cerritos nor Montebello have any future games scheduled.
