Football Game Preview: Berry Wildcats vs. Fayetteville Wolves + How To Watch

The Berry Wildcats will square off against the Fayetteville Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fayetteville will be up against a hot Berry team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Wildcats took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 52-14 win over Victory Christian. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-0.

Berry had a senior duo take command as Ayden Lake Norris rushed for 182 yards and two scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry and Jayden Smith rushed for 66 yards and one TD on only five carries. Lake Norris' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 140 rushing yards.

Berry was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 306 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Fayetteville never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past Brilliant to the tune of 41-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Wolves just coasted through the last quarter.

Fayetteville's win came from a few key players Berry will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brenton Cantrell, who picked up 56 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in September. Cameron Hammonds was another key player, rushing for 73 yards and one TD.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Fayetteville, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Brennon Marlin, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Berry's record is now 8-2. As for Fayetteville, their record now sits at an identical 8-2.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Berry has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 208.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Fayetteville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 281.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
