Softball Recap: Scripps Ranch Takes a Loss

Scripps Ranch fell victim to Mira Mesa and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Marauders, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Scripps Ranch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eme Ledbetter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Scripps Ranch's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Mira Mesa, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scripps Ranch will head out to challenge Canyon Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rattlers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mira Mesa, they will venture away from home to face off against Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Marauders are facing the Warhawks at the right time seeing as the Warhawks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
