Softball Recap: Friendswood Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Friendswood made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Texas City, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Friendswood Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Texas City Stingarees a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the eighth in a row for Friendswood, bringing their record for this year to 15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Texas City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5-1.

Coincidentally, Friendswood and Texas City will both be playing Iowa Colony the next time they take the field. Friendswood will head out to face Iowa Colony at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Texas City will host them at 6:30 p.m. on March 11th.
