Basketball Recap: South Charlotte Takes a Loss

South Charlotte was the 60-44 winner over Lake Norman Christian when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The South Charlotte Thunder were outmatched by the Lake Norman Christian Lions and fell 85-46. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Lions are ranked 172nd).

Several Thunder players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Hall, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points. Another player making a difference was Kristoffer Lang, who posted six points and seven boards.

The defeat snapped South Charlotte's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-15 record. As for Lake Norman Christian, they moved to 17-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

South Charlotte will challenge Surry HomeSchool at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. South Charlotte is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season. Lake Norman Christian has already played their next matchup (against Elevation Prep Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
