Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Belvidere North

The Central Rockets will face off against the Belvidere North Blue Thunder at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Central is coming into the matchup on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. Everything went their way against Jacobs on Thursday as they made off with a 5-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Belvidere North waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the J-Hawks get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for Belvidere North, who have now won ten games by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Jefferson from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Haylee Gallas led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Belvidere North pushed their record up to 12-1-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three matches. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Central was able to grind out a solid win over Belvidere North in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 5-3. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Thunder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
