            Softball Recap: Ephrata Mountaineers vs. Octorara Area Braves        
        
		
        
        
            It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but Ephrata ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Octorara Area Braves  15-14. For the Mountaineers, this counts as revenge for the   22-6 win the Braves walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2022.
  Emma Zimmerman and  Kaliana Auchey did most of the damage at the plate:  Zimmerman  went 3-for-5 with five  RBI, three  runs,  and one  triple, while  Auchey  went 4-for-6 with one  home run and four  runs. That's the most  runs  Auchey has posted since back in April of 2024.  Lexi Palmer was another key player,  going 3-for-6 with two  RBI and one  double.
Ephrata's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Octorara Area, their defeat was  their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-4.
 Ephrata didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  a  12-0  win against Palmyra on the 24th. Octorara Area has also already played their next  contest (against Muhlenberg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
