Football Recap: Decatur Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lee + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hartselle, Decatur was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lee Generals with a sharp 35-12 win. The Red Raiders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Reid Roberson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 165 yards and two TDs on only 14 passes. Those 84 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Quaylen Hampton was another key player, picking up 152 receiving yards and two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Decatur was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Decatur's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Cayden Oliver was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 16 games he's played dating back to last season. Casey Justice was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making 14 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Decatur's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lee, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coming up, Decatur will challenge Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee, they will venture away from home to take on Gadsden City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
