Soccer Recap: Rantoul Comes Up Short

The Rantoul Eagles didn't have quite enough to beat the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints on Tuesday and fell 2-1. Rantoul have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Their goal came courtesy of Oscar Echeverria, who's now up to ten this season.

Rantoul's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Bloomington Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Rantoul will face off against St. Joseph-Ogden at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Joseph-Ogden's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Rantoul's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Bloomington Central Catholic, they will challenge Illinois Valley Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
