Softball Recap: South Pontotoc Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Pontotoc can now relate to. They fell 12-8 to the Itawamba Agricultural Indians on Monday. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Jacee Mcclellan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Terry, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

South Pontotoc's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11-1. As for Itawamba Agricultural, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-6.

As of now, neither South Pontotoc nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
