Soccer Game Preview: Lumberton vs. West Brook

The Lumberton Raiders will face off against the West Brook Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lumberton will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Lumberton's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Silsbee. Considering the Raiders have won 11 contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Silsbee from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Brook). Everything went their way against Port Arthur Memorial last Friday as West Brook made off with a 13-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bruins needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Lumberton pushed their record up to 16-3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six matches. As for West Brook, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12-2 record this season.

Lumberton came out on top in a nail-biter against West Brook when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Lumberton have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Brook turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
