Softball Recap: Western Boone Beats Lebanon for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Western Boone waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Lebanon Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Stars have posted since April 20, 2024.

Ally Lewis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lewis wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mickey Burns, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Raina Lutz also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Western Boone's record now sits at 7-2. As for Lebanon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Western Boone will venture away from home to challenge McCutcheon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Stars 3.4, the Mavericks 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lebanon, they will take on Lafayette Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bronchos have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
