Soccer Recap: Eastern Randolph Comes Up Short

Eastern Randolph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Southwestern Randolph Cougars, falling 7-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Eastern Randolph of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Eastern Randolph's record now sits at 1-5-2. As for Southwestern Randolph, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-7.

Eastern Randolph and Southwestern Randolph could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Eastern Randolph (ranked 380th) will meet Uwharrie Charter Academy (ranked 131st) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Southwestern Randolph will take on Wheatmore at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 218 places (335 vs. 117).
