Basketball Game Preview: Cooper Cougars vs. Burleson Elks

The Cooper Cougars will challenge the Burleson Elks at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

It was a proper cat-fight when Cooper challenged Colleyville Heritage on Monday. The Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Panthers are ranked 96th).

Burleson has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Everman last Friday.

Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Burleson, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.
