Softball Recap: Greenwood Rangers vs. Monahans Loboes
Greenwood was the 3-2 winner over Monahans when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Rangers fell just short of the Loboes by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Rangers have lost by exactly two runs.
Greenwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brissa Galindo, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
This is the second loss in a row for Greenwood and nudges their season record down to 13-14-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 20-6 Seminole (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.6% over those games). As for Monahans, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Greenwood will challenge rival Pecos at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Monahans is set to face off against their familiar foe Seminole at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
