Basketball Recap: Pickett County Beats Gordonsville for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Pickett County waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took their match with ease, bagging a 95-44 win over the Gordonsville Tigers. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Tigers are ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pickett County pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.8 points over those games. As for Gordonsville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
