The Carmel School Wildcats lost against the Grove Christian School Falcons back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Carmel School was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 24-23 to Grove Christian School. The Carmel School has not had much luck with Grove Christian School recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Grove Christian School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emily Hopkins, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lizzie Featherstone, who scored two points along with three steals.
The Carmel School dropped their record down to 2-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for Grove Christian School, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
The Carmel School will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Richmond Christian at 5:00 p.m. As for Grove Christian School, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Grace Christian School at 3:15 p.m. on January 27th.
