Softball Recap: Jennings County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Jennings County took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Columbus North, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Bull Dogs 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Arian Day was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Day was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Day wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maycie Ward, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Paige Hack also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Jennings County's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Columbus North, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Coincidentally, Jennings County and Columbus North will both be playing New Palestine the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Dragons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bull Dogs will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
