Baseball Recap: Pennsville Memorial Has No Trouble Against Tome

Pennsville Memorial had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Tome on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Titans. Considering the Eagles have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Connor Starn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Burchfield, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Luke Wood was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Pennsville Memorial's record now sits at 15-9. As for Tome, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

As of now, neither Pennsville Memorial nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
