Volleyball Recap: Spanish Fort Toros vs. Pelham Panthers
Spanish Fort had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Pelham Panthers 3-0 on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Toros who have now won six matchups in a row.
Spanish Fort never let Pelham on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 26-24, 25-19.
Taylor Ishmael paced Spanish Fort's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ishmael got some help from
Cailyn Boykin and her 36 assists. Boykin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Spanish Fort has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 30 of their last 33 games, which provided a nice bump to their 63-10 record this season. As for Pelham, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 37-17.
