Softball Recap: Leigh Takes a Loss

After flying high against Gilroy last Thursday, Leigh came back down to earth. The Longhorns lost 7-1 to the Branham Bruins on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 back in March.

Leigh saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Manning-Alarcon, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Leigh has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13-1 record this season. As for Branham, their record is now 10-11.

Coming up, Leigh will challenge Leland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Branham, they will take on King's Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Bruins' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
