Basketball Recap: Madison Plains Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kenzie Vallery and Anna Stroup

Madison Plains has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenon Knights. The Golden Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 50-36.

Despite the loss, Madison Plains had strong showings from Anna Stroup, who posted 20 points along with eight boards and five steals, and Kenzie Vallery, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Vallery continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Madison Plains smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 15 consecutive matches.

Madison Plains' record now sits at 12-6. As for Greenon, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
