Football Recap: Polson Pirates vs. Libby Loggers
Polson was the 38-8 winner over Libby when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates took a 31-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loggers on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Polson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Holden Emerson, who picked up 57 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground. Emerson didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Another signal caller making a difference was Case Cox, who threw for 233 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

It was another big night for Tristan Andersen, who rushed for 121 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, and also threw for 202 yards and two TDs for Libby.
