Softball Recap: Borrego Springs Comes Up Short

Borrego Springs was the 21-9 winner over Warner when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams lost 25-10 to the Wildcats on Tuesday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anavey Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandra Torres, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Borrego Springs' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Warner, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Coming up, Borrego Springs will challenge Julian at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Warner will be paying especially close attention to the Rams' match: after the Rams face off against Calipatria, they'll take on Warner again at 3:00 p.m. on May 2.
