Baseball Game Preview: Tullahoma Wildcats vs. Rocket City Rockets

The Tullahoma Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Rocket City Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tullahoma has nine straight victories, Rocket City has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Tullahoma made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Warren County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Tullahoma never let Warren County get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Andrew Fulmer made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fulmer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jackson Schmisseur was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. Hunter Hogan was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Tullahoma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren County only posted an OBP of .176.

Meanwhile, Rocket City suffered their biggest defeat since March 29, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Cascade, falling 12-3.

Peyton Haskins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Tullahoma's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Rocket City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
