Softball Recap: Slaughter Community Charter Takes a Loss

Slaughter Community Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Sumner Cowboys, falling 15-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-5 back in February.

Slaughter Community Charter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Brister, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Brister is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Slaughter Community Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Sumner, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Coming up, Slaughter Community Charter will challenge Livonia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Sumner, they will head out to take on Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
