After a string of seven wins, Starkville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Germantown Mavericks. The Yellowjackets were probably out for revenge after losing 37-30 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Starkville's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4. As for Germantown, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Starkville will challenge Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Germantown, they will face off against Tupelo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
