Basketball Game Preview: West Greene Pioneers vs. Carrick Raiders

The West Greene Pioneers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Carrick Raiders at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. West Greene will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Friday, West Greene escaped with a win against Chartiers-Houston by the margin of a single free throw, 52-51.

Lane Allison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 of 22 on his way to 27 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Wassil, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 rebounds.

West Greene smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Carrick lost to South Park on the road by a 65-51 margin on Tuesday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carrick now has a losing record at 3-4. As for West Greene, their record now sits at 5-2.

West Greene couldn't quite finish off Carrick in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 50-48. Can West Greene avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
