Recap: Ragland Purple Devils vs. Victory Christian Lions
The Ragland Purple Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Victory Christian 48-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ragland has scored all season.
Leading Victory Christian to victory were William Wilson-Hueter and Peyton Scott. Wilson-Hueter dropped a double-double on 13 points and 25 rebounds, while Scott scored 21 points along with six steals. Scott hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wilson, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Ragland has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Victory Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9.
Ragland will head out on the road to challenge Jefferson Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Christian Academy is on a five-game streak of home losses, Ragland a seven-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Victory Christian will take on Appalachian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
