Baseball Recap: Meeker Takes a Loss

Meeker lost against Basalt back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cowboys lost 11-5 to the Longhorns. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cade Mills put in work no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Mills wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Said Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meeker's record is now 7-15. As for Basalt, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-12.

Looking ahead, Meeker will head out to face off against Steamboat Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Basalt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
