Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mahomet-Seymour). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the MacArthur Generals a 19-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Mahomet-Seymour and bumps their season record up to 10-13. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for MacArthur, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

Mahomet-Seymour and MacArthur could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 317th) will meet St. Joseph-Ogden (ranked 93rd) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, MacArthur will take on Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (573 vs. 43).
