Softball Recap: Loogootee Comes Up Short

Loogootee lost against Southridge back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lions lost 17-4 to the Raiders. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Breanna Courter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Ashley Green was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Loogootee's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Southridge, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loogootee will square off against Wood Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southridge, they will face off against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hatchets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.43 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
