Football Recap: Belle Vernon Leopards vs. Central Valley Warriors

Belle Vernon won the last time they faced Central Valley, and Curtis Wade did his part to make sure it happened again. The Leopards sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 25-22 victory over the Warriors on Friday with plenty of help from Wade, who threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 54 yards and one score. Belle Vernon also relied on Wade, who's 49-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.

Despite the loss, Central Valley still got an impressive performance from Braddock Ambrose, who rushed for 49 yards and one TD, and also threw for 130 yards on ten of 26 attempts. A healthy portion of Ambrose's aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Aaron Lawson.

The win got Belle Vernon back to even at 1-1. As for Central Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
