The Poly Parrots pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary 64-59.

When it comes to explaining why Poly lost, one person who can't be blamed is JD Wyatt. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 47.5% of Poly's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jao Libunao was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six steals.

Donovan Desha continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, shooting 5-for-8 from long range and dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Desha has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Diego Boardman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Poly's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.

Poly will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Monroe at 4:00 p.m. Monroe is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, they will square off against Cabrillo at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
