Volleyball Recap: River Valley Takes a Loss

River Valley and Highland squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but River Valley had to settle for second. They came up short against the Fighting Scots, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Fighting Scots this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss back in September.

While River Valley ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-17.

Colette Osborne paced River Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Osborne got some help from Hayley Wickersham and her 15 assists.

River Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Highland, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7.

As of now, neither River Valley nor the Fighting Scots have any future games scheduled.
