Football Recap: Liberal Victorious + How To Watch

After losing to Osceola the last time they met, Liberal decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs snuck past the Indians with a 50-44 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Elam Beaman went supernova, rushing for 117 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 160 yards and four TDs. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Liberal also got a significant boost from Maddox Miller, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.

Liberal's run defense was locked in: Osceola could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Kaidon Simpson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Liberal didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.9.

Despite the loss, Osceola still got an impressive performance from Will Murray, who threw for 144 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. An impressive showing, but Murray really ramped things up playing D: he picked up two sacks and made 13 total tackles.

Liberal now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Osceola, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Liberal will challenge New Heights Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Osceola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Archie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Whirlwinds have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
