Baseball Recap: Hawkins Comes Up Short

Hawkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-1 to the Gladewater Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 on Friday.

Hawkins' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gladewater, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hawkins will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Big Sandy at 6:00 p.m. on March 10. As for Gladewater, they will welcome Chapel Hill at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
