Soccer Recap: Cibola Comes Up Short

Cibola fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Higley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 5-3 to the Higley Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in January.

Cibola hit Higley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Leyla Lugo, Lailah Solomon, and Destani Mendoza.

This is the second loss in a row for Cibola and nudges their season record down to 13-7. As for Higley, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Cibola does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Higley, they will head out to face off against Desert Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Higley will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.
