Volleyball Recap: Bothell Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Bothell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Eastlake Wolves on Tuesday. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Eastlake scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Eastlake can attribute much of their success to Kyra Kanai, who had 17 assists and nine digs. Those nine digs gave Kanai a new career-high.

Eastlake picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-7-1.

Bothell will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Issaquah at 7:00 p.m. on October 16. As for Eastlake, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Bothell/Inglemoor on the 23rd.
