Volleyball Recap: Hoover Cardinals vs. Crawford Colts
Hoover lost against Crawford back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals came up short against the Colts, falling 3-0. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hoover was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-18.
Crawford found their leader in freshman John Brown, who had 14 digs and one assist. Brown is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Crawford, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hoover will challenge rival Point Loma at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crawford is set to take on their familiar foe Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
