Preview: Cummings Cavaliers vs. Northwood Chargers
After two games on the road, Cummings is heading back home. They will take on the Northwood Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cummings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 540th, while Northwood is ranked 80th).
On Tuesday, Cummings was the victim of a rough 56-34 defeat at the hands of Chatham Central. Cummings has not had much luck with Chatham Central recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Northwood can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They breezed by Graham at home to the tune of 58-17. The victory was just what Northwood needed coming off of a 76-37 defeat in their prior game.
Cummings' defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Northwood, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
