Video: Xcellent 25 High School Football Rankings
De La Salle awaits a test from Pittsburg on Dec. 2.

The playoffs are suddenly in the semifinal rounds for larger schools and in title-rounds for smaller programs. All section champions will earn a CIF Northern California Regional berth.

Top-ranked De La Salle has a bye this week but will face a Pittsburg team ranked third here, and that's the last program to stick the Spartans with a NorCal loss — in 1991.
