Football Game Preview: Baldwyn Bearcats vs. North Side Gators + Official Tickets

The Baldwyn Bearcats will welcome the North Side Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Baldwyn is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They breezed past East Union to the tune of 42-6. With the Bearcats ahead 28-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Baldwyn had a senior duo take command as Jourdan Crump rushed for 124 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries and Ethan Johnson gained 82 total yards and two touchdowns. Crump's longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Ashton Grice got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Baldwyn, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Grice, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Baldwyn didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Grice was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, while North Side put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Velma Jackson. The Gators blew past the Falcons 42-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

Baldwyn's record is now 10-1. As for North Side, their record now sits at 9-1.

Baldwyn ended up a good deal behind North Side in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, losing 41-27. Can the Bearcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
