Basketball Recap: Hampden Comes Up Short

Hampden was the 54-52 winner over Lawrence when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Hampden Broncos'2024 ended with a 52-38 defeat against the Lawrence Bulldogs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked third).

This is the second loss in a row for Hampden and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Lawrence, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampden will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Nokomis at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Lawrence and Gardiner will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
