It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Loveland can now relate to. They fell just short of the Anthony Wayne Generals by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Will Bertke was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Blake Carrigan and Brady Stidham did some serious damage despite the final result: Carrigan went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI, while Stidham went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Loveland's loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Anthony Wayne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.
