The Twin Peaks Charter Academy Timberwolves's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Loveland Classical Lions at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Twin Peaks Charter Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 307th, while Loveland Classical is ranked 112th).
While Twin Peaks Charter Academy couldn't quite beat Ascent Classical Academy on Monday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 32-point loss they were dealt on Friday. Twin Peaks Charter Academy fell just short of Ascent Classical Academy by a score of 50-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Twin Peaks Charter Academy has suffered yet this season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Chance Mueller, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Wurth, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Loveland Classical had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Front Range Baptist by a score of 68-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Twin Peaks Charter Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Loveland Classical, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Twin Peaks Charter Academy was taken down by Loveland Classical 73-30 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Twin Peaks Charter Academy was down 50-17.
