White Pine made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Awaken Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bobcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions  a   17-0 shutout  on Friday. Considering the Bobcats have won seven games by more than seven  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Maddox Sedlacek was a major factor no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because White Pine is 4-1 when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Sedlacek was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with five  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Those  five  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Dylan Cessford, who  scored four  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of White Pine's success: when he posts  at  least two  stolen bases the team is 7-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was  Tucker Maestes, who  scored four  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 White Pine  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Awaken Christian only posted  an  OBP of  .294.
White Pine's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Awaken Christian, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record  this season.
 White Pine will take on Laughlin at 1:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Awaken Christian, they will square off against Sandy Valley at 3:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Sidewinders will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
